Memorial Day is a profoundly significant holiday dedicated to paying tribute to our fallen heroes—those who fought courageously to protect our freedoms and keep our communities safe. ## Why We Celebrate Memorial Day Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day was established after the Civil War to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives in battle. Today, it serves as a solemn reminder to reflect on the sacrifices made by our military members and their families. It’s a day to show gratitude, remember loved ones, and acknowledge the enduring spirit of service and patriotism that shapes our nation. ## Branch Closures on Memorial Day Please note that all Rocky Mountain Credit Union branches will be closed on Memorial Day, allowing our employees time to observe this important day with their families and communities.
