We are truly honored to celebrate the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our veterans, past and present. Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day, first observed on November 11, 1919, to commemorate the end of World War I. The armistice—the agreement to end fighting—took effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. In 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to honor all American veterans, recognizing the service of those who fought in every conflict to protect the freedoms of the United States. Their commitment to protecting our freedoms and ensuring our safety allows us to live, work, and dream with confidence. We recognize the incredible sacrifices made by veterans and their families, and we stand in appreciation and respect with you.
