Kathy Shea Scholarship
Kathy Shea was a champion for Credit Union Advocacy throughout her community. She believed in the power of higher education, committing much of her time to the local schools of Butte. Kathy was well-known throughout her community for her kindness, generosity, and selfless nature. She accepted everyone around her and supported their goals. This scholarship is a dedication to the legacy she created throughout Butte.
This scholarship will be available for Butte High School and Butte Central School Seniors accepted to MT Tech.
- Two winners will be selected, each receiving a $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP.
- Rocky Mountain Credit Union is providing two $500 scholarships
- The Shea Family will match RMCU's $500 contributions.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be a Graduating High School senior from a Butte Area High School with an acceptance for MT Tech.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 GPA or higher.
Application Requirements
- Completed application
- An essay of 500 words or less on why you are choosing MT Tech, what degree you are pursuing, and how you will utilize your degree to enhance your community.
- Two references with signed letters of recommendation.

Timeline
- Completed applications (including reference letters) sent to [email protected] (must be received by 11:59 pm, March 31st, 2024).
- The recipient will be notified in May.
- The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s school in the fall after enrollment is verified.
