As we approach Presidents' Day, Rocky Mountain Credit Union would like to remind our members that all branches will be closed on this federal holiday to allow our team to observe it.

What is Presidents Day?

Presidents Day, celebrated on the third Monday of February each year, is a federal holiday dedicated to honoring the legacy and leadership of U.S. presidents, particularly George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Initially established in 1885 to celebrate George Washington’s birthday on February 22nd, the holiday has evolved to recognize the contributions of all presidents throughout American history.

The holiday gained wider recognition in 1971 when the Uniform Monday Holiday Act moved the celebration to a Monday, creating a convenient long weekend for Americans. Presidents Day serves as a time to reflect on the leadership, vision, and dedication of those who have shaped our nation.
